The truth is out there / intervention on a thrift store painting 👽👁️

This rare goodie of a public payphone is gone now. Even three years ago when I painted it, stumbling across a payphone in the wild that still had the full deluxe combo of phone, flagpole, housing, phone-book cover AND an old-school Yellow Pages inside, was almost unheard of. I figured that by infusing it with some love, I might help stall the removal of this little time machine that carried us back to simpler days; but the inevitable happened, and now it’s gone. I know there’s a graveyard for retired Vegas casino signage, but does anyone know where payphones are laid to rest? 🧐📞💀

A mural in an unexpected spot: inside a narrow shaft connected to the media/basement bar room of a newly renovated five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath home in the heart of Manhattan Beach’s Sand Section. The shaft - an emergency ladder space that connects to the ground floor - sits behind a window, making it an unusual place for a mural. The clients, avid cyclists and runners, wanted to bring the outside view in with a creative twist. I painted a scene of the Manhattan Beach pier and boardwalk, featuring cyclists, runners, and their beloved Westie, Cooper, excitedly heading out for a walk.
