A mural in an unexpected spot: inside a narrow shaft connected to the media/basement bar room of a newly renovated five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath home in the heart of Manhattan Beach’s Sand Section. The shaft - an emergency ladder space that connects to the ground floor - sits behind a window, making it an unusual place for a mural. The clients, avid cyclists and runners, wanted to bring the outside view in with a creative twist. I painted a scene of the Manhattan Beach pier and boardwalk, featuring cyclists, runners, and their beloved Westie, Cooper, excitedly heading out for a walk. Still running 6 years later - Library of Congress presents: ‘LA Murals’ at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown LA. It’s an honor to be a part of this and for my mural to be chosen as the show image. The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world, with millions of books, recordings, photographs, newspapers, maps and manuscripts in its collections.
